Perhaps one of the rarest and most appreciated surprises in life is being offered free, one-on-one time with a lawyer who’s on your side. We’ve lined up that very thing for you and hope that you’re able to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to get free legal advice for your business.

Lorrie Luellig has extensive experience counseling clients about retention policies and procedures for both litigation related matters and overall company operations. She has helped to create and implement strategies for both Fortune 100 companies and smaller privately and publicly held companies in the areas of legal and regulatory compliance, litigation holds, privacy and security issues as well as information handling and disposition.

Following are some questions participants may want to ask Lorrie during the Business Solutions Clinic:

1. What type of business entity is best for my business (Partnership, Corporation, LLC, etc.), and what are my primary tax considerations?

2. Do I need permits/licenses/insurance/copyright/trademark?

3. What should I consider when securing business space? What is the difference between a full service lease, a triple net lease and a gross lease? What are the advantages of renting versus buying?

4. How should I structure capitalization for my company? Are there any securities issues that arise?

5. What should I know about contracts?

6. What can I do to protect myself from personal liability for customer or employee disputes?

7. Should I hire “employees” or “independent contractors,” and do I need employee/contractor agreements and/or an employee handbook?

8. What company policies should I memorialize in writing?

9. How can I prevent/prepare for litigation?

10. What happens if I want/need to sell or close my business?

She received her LL.M. from Harvard Law School and her J.D., magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law where she received numerous awards including three American Jurisprudence Awards in civil procedure, torts, and women and the law. She received her B.S., cum laude, from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
