The Tempe Chamber of Commerce recently joined forces with the Tempe City Council to ensure that local businesses have every tool possible to operate successfully and profitably.
Over the past months, many business owners and managers contacted the Tempe Chamber asking for our assistance to help them generate more business and remain prosperous in a tough economic climate. We shared these concerns with the City Council and are pleased to announce that they recently enacted a temporary code modification that allows more flexibility with signage regulations.
The Tempe Chamber believes that these steps will allow businesses an extra chance to increase sales and grow their profits. We, too, are concerned with the welfare of our business membership and share the city’s desire to overcome the challenges that it faces.
Learn what the modifications allow.
On August 3, 2009, businesses will be allowed two significant event permits each year and will be able to display temporary signs for twenty-one cumulative days.
The size of the temporary portable signs will be increased from three to six square feet. Sign height will remain at three feet. Sale, lease and rent signs for commercial, industrial and multi-family properties will also be increased from six to sixteen square feet. These modifications will be in effect for nine months.
We applaud the City of Tempe for making these positive changes and look forward to working together to continue the success of our local economy. Here at the Tempe Chamber, we remain committed to our role as the voice of the business community. If we can assist you or your business, please don’t hesitate to call.
