Boots for Our Troops Program Kicks Off in Arizona
Posted on | July 28, 2009 |
The Tempe Chamber of Commerce and its Military Affairs Committee are lending support to the locally founded Tempe Veterans Foundation and its “Boots For Our Troops” program. Through the program, businesses and retail outlets have the opportunity to support Arizona’s veterans, military personnel and their families.
The “Boots for Our Troops” program kicks off on August 1 and provides participating retail stores, hospitality outlets, and other businesses with combat boot-shaped cut outs. Patrons can purchase one, write their name or a message on it and display it at the business. The funds collected support reintegration services, counseling, financial aid and scholarships for Arizona veterans.
“It’s an easy and convenient way for Arizonans to express their appreciation for the sacrifices of our Veterans, military personnel and their families in defending our country and our freedoms,” said David Lucier, President of the Tempe Veterans Foundation.
The general fundraising drive will run from August 1 to October 31, 2009. The Tempe Veterans Foundation is a recognized 501(C)3 nonprofit and donations are tax deductible. For more information on how stores or individuals can participate, contact the Tempe Veterans Foundation at (480) 703-4008.
