I always considered myself to be fortunate in my career. I was with Bank of America for 16 years, overseeing the bank’s marketing activities for the ten-state Central region. Many of those marketing plans included working with major sports teams on sponsorships and as a sports fan, the excitement inside of an arena or stadium is unparalleled for me.
 
Yet, running a professional sports team? It never crossed my mind! Nevertheless, in 2004 I joined the amazing group of professional female basketball players from the Phoenix Mercury as President and COO. Four years later, we brought the first professional basketball championship to the state and have been continuing to reach for the stars ever since.


 

Just like everything in life, there are steps you can take to “manage your course”, to achieve your success, and to get closer to your dreams.  While at the Mercury, I’ve compiled five key pillars that have resonated and applied to our success both on and off the court.   I’m looking forward to sharing these insights with you at the Women in Business Conference & Trade Show on Thursday, May 21.
